why use us? Many new faces and technology appear every day in the mastering field but there are key elements that define good mastering. As music technology and audio tools evolve, the inate understanding of audio both technically and artistically is quintesential to the art of mastering. The skills of a mastering engineer are learned, above all, through experience and exposure to the constantly evolving language of music. The Kitchen has built a reputation as the mastering house with the experience, integrity and skills to do it right. Our approach to mastering at the Kitchen is not tied to trends, specific technology or marketing. We strive to get to the core of the music, and to bring out the best in every recording.
At the Kitchen we understand that mastering is not intended to be a sonic stamp but rather a process tailored to the unique needs of each recording. This philosophy extends to our equipment choices as well. The signal chain employed at the Kitchen features a broad spectrum of analog and digital tools and has been selected over years of testing, experience and research to provide a comprehensive toolset and impeccable sonics. We do not endorse any particular product or method as a "magic bullet".
We are interested in making your project a success and we spend the extra time needed to make that happen at no additional cost to you. We encourage you to get us involved early in the recording and mix process to help address any potential problems that are best corrected before the project comes in for mastering. Unlike many mastering services and mail-in services, we encourage you to interact and communicate your musical goals and recording techniques. This type of commitment is not going to come from someone who is not interested or experienced in making quality recordings. Our commitment - The relationship you establish with a mastering engineer can have a significant impact on the success of your recordings. We hope that you will consider the Kitchen as your mastering house of choice on your current or next project. Whether a major label act or independent release, we make it our priority to focus on your music and make your project sound the best it can be. |
